Latest updates on COVID-19 Treatment for Foreigners arriving in S. Korea
Please check the latest information about COVID-19 treatment for foreigners arriving in S. Korea as follows to avoid any disadvantage. As we already requested in the previous notification, you must contact JNU OIA as soon as you confirm your entry schedule with all required information (flight number, departure/arrival airport, departure/arrival time, expected place of quarantine).
In accordance with the revised Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, foreign arrivals infected with COVID-19 who violated quarantine rules(ex. quarantine violations, false PCR test results submission) after arriving in S.Korea will be required to cover all the costs of their treatment from 00:00 on 17 August 2020.
Furthermore, you must be aware that foreign COVID-19 patients who arrive in S. Korea after 00:00 on 24 August 2020(KST) will be required to pay the whole or part of their treatment expenses. The Korean government will charge COVID-infected foreign arrivals according to the consideration of the principle of
reciprocity in diplomatic relations. It means that the costs will vary depending on how much their home countries charge Korean nationals for COVID-19 treatment.
For countries that support full treatment fees for infected South Koreans
- Fully covered by the Korean government(except for non-deductible medical expenses)
For countries that demand treatment fees from infected South Koreans
- Self-funded(not covered by the Korean government)
For countries that support partial treatment fees for infected South Koreans
- Korean government only covers the hospitalizations costs and medical expenses as well as food expense will be charged to the individual.

또한 ‘20.8.24. 0시 이후 입국하는 해외유입 확진 외국인은 본인 출신국가의 한국 국민에 대한 지원 여부 및 정도에 따라 치료비를 일부 또는 전부 부담하도록 조치 예정임을 알려 드리오니 참고하여 주시기 바랍니다.

- 외국인(한국 국민 포함) 치료 미지원 국가: 전액 본인 부담
- 외국인(한국 국민 포함) 치료 조건부(일부) 지원 국가: 격리실입원료(병실료)는 지원하되, 치료비, 식비 등 본인 부담
以下是关于corona-19 海外入境外国人治疗费用的最新信消息，计划入境的外国留学生熟知如下说明，以免发生不必要的损失。另外，按照此前的通知，从海外入境的外国留学生必须事先向负责职员提供本人入境日程（包括搭乘航班、出发及到达机场、出发及到达时间、以及预定隔离地点） 。
根据《传染病预防及管理相关法律》修订，自20.8.17.0点起，境外流入的确诊外国人如果：①违反隔离令等防疫措施，②提交虚假PCR检查结果等违反国内（韩国）防疫措施的归责原因时，需由本人承担全部治疗费用。
另外自"20.8.24. 0点以后入境的外国人，根据本人出身国家是否对韩国国民提供支援及程度，决定本人需要负担部分或全部治疗费用，敬请参考。
支援韩国国民治疗费用的国家: 全额支援
不支援韩国国民治疗费用的国家: 全额本人负担
部分支援韩国国民治疗费用的: 支援隔离室住院费(病房费), 但治疗费、餐费等本人负担。
