Starting from July 1st, 2021 (Tue), the period of stay will be granted only within the validity of the passport when when approval of staying in Korea for foreigners. 

 

□ Standard of granting the period of stay

​• ​ The period of stay will be granted within the validity of the passport.

• (Until June, 30, 2022) Although the validity of the passport is within 1 year, it is considered as 1 year and be granted 1 year of the period of stay.

​• (After July, 1, 2021) There is a case it is practically impossible to reissue the passport within remaining period of stay. ​In this case, even if the validity of passport is less than 6 months, the validity of passport is regarded as 6 months only once and the approved period of stay will be granted within 6 months.
