State Program for the Education of Azerbaijani Youth

Brief Description


“State Program for the Education of Azerbaijani Youth in the Top-ranked Foreign Universities for 2022-2026”

 

Adopted: 28.02.2022 by the Decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Main Purpose:

-          Creating competitive opportunities for young people to study in ranked foreign universities of the world;

-          Preparing graduates in order to ensure the sustainable development of the Republic of Azerbaijan and to meet global challenges;

-          Formation of human capital in the below mentioned prioritized subject areas;

-          Ensuring the sustainable development of human capital in Azerbaijan through meeting the need for competent human resources.

Key Facts:

●       Total Period: 5 years;

●       Starting academic year: 2022-23 academic year;

●       Capacity totally (2022-2026): 2000 students;

●       Capacity per year: up to 400 students;

●       Degrees: undergraduate and graduate (master) programs;

*Applications for master degree are given the priority.

●       Prioritized subject areas:

§  Information technologies;

§  Engineering;

§  Statistics and data analysis;

§  Fundamental and applied sciences;

§  Public health;

§  Education;

§  Environmental Sciences;

§  Aviation and Aerospace;

§  Public Administration;

§  Transport and Logistics;

§  Energy;

§  Economy;

§  Finance;

§  Architecture and Design;

§  Agriculture.

 

●       Criteria: The state program will cover only those areas that indicated in the list of top-ranked foreign universities placed in both “The Times Higher Education” and “ShanghaiRanking” international ranking tables. The ratings of programs will be taken into account in state program this year in addition to the ranking of universities.

●       Returning to Home Country Policy: The contract will be required to sign which will indicate returning to the home country and 5 years working in Azerbaijan. 

Eligibility and Selection Procedure:

-          Applications undergo an initial shortlisting and interviewing process.

 

Initial Eligibility Criteria:

-          Being a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

-          Must be admitted to undergraduate or graduate (master) programme from list of prioritised subject areas by ranked universities;

-          Motivation Letter;

-          Curriculum Vitae (CV)

-          Letter of Recommendations

-          Excellent academic record.

-          Acceptable language score


Note: the Cabinet of Ministers will approve the relevant selection criteria and funding rules of Program for the next months.

 

Funding

-          Full Tuition Fee

-          Monthly Living Allowance;

-          Travel Cost;

-          Health Insurance.

Financial Source: State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
